We started as a curtain workroom. People who came in for linen curtains kept asking where to find a low table, or a lamp that did not glare, so we began making a few pieces and buying in the ones we could not make ourselves.
Most of the furniture is solid oak or ash, built in short runs of six to twenty. The lighting is paper and linen. The stoneware comes from potters we have ordered from for years, and the glaze changes a little from one firing to the next, which we would rather tell you now than after delivery.
The showroom is at 8 Lovett Way, next door to the workroom. You can sit on the bench, slide the sideboard doors and hold a fabric up to the window before you order anything.

Made to measure
Curtains and blinds
Every pair is cut on a four metre table upstairs from the showroom and finished by hand at the heading and the hems. Most orders are ready three to four weeks after you approve the quote.

Pick up to six fabrics. They usually arrive in two or three working days.

Measure, or we do
Our guide takes about ten minutes with a steel tape. A home visit inside the M25 is £45, taken off the order.

Approve the quote
Fabric, lining, heading and making are priced line by line. Nothing is cut until you say yes in writing.

Cut, sewn, delivered
Sent pressed and folded with hooks fitted, or hung by our fitter if you live inside the M25.
Linen from £38 a metre. Lined making from £29 a width. A pair for a standard 150 cm sash window usually comes to £390 to £560.
Because they are made to your sizes, curtains and blinds cannot be cancelled once cutting has started. This is written on every quote before you accept it.

How we work
The showroom and the workroom
Showroom, ground floor
Every piece in the shop is set out the way it would be at home, with the curtains hung at real windows so you can see how the linen takes the light. Ring or email to book a time and one of us will be free to walk round with you. There is no charge and no need to buy.
Workroom, upstairs
Two cutting tables, three industrial machines and a steam press. The people sewing here learned on theatre and hotel work, where a curtain gets opened hundreds of times a week. Each pair is checked seam by seam before it is folded.
Delivery and returns, in short

Changed your mind about a stock item? Tell us within 14 days of delivery and send it back unused. We refund the price and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of getting it back. If something arrives damaged or faulty, we collect it at our cost. Full delivery and returns policy
